PROJECT 1: Case Study Paper

This project is driven by Architectural Design Studio 4, as an approach to support students' design through extensive research within the framework of sustainability in Asia. The sustainability design framework focuses on the building assigned for site visit, with research objectives defined through in-depth literature review, leading to a well-established case study paper structure and writing.

 

The site I've chosen is Sekeping Serendah Retreat near Rawang, I love the concept of every Sekeping Retreat where they bring nature close to us. In the process of creating an environment, the effect on the destrution of natural context is kept to minimal. They also emphasize a lot on the journey into the spaces, pathways are created to enchance the experience. I have learned to appreciate nature better and understand the concept behind building a sustainable designed enviornment.  

 

 

PROJECT 2: Documentation Study

This project involves the study of streets in an Asian city to understand the historical and social aspects of the city by examining the development of tradition, modernization and globalization of streets. The street we've chosen is Gaya Street in Kota Kinabalu, it was an unforgettable experience travelling there and to walk on the streets. We have ultilize our photography technics and skils to record the life and elements of the street, by observing how both local and foreigners commute the street, we were able to differentiate the street in Asian and other parts of the world. We entered to buildings and also return for most visits for 3 days to fully experience what we have to add into our report.
