ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDIO 4

PROJECT 1: "GREEN" SPORT'S INFO-EQUIPMENT SHED:
EXPLORING THE ENVIRONMENT POETICS

The Green Sports Info Equipment Shed is a project to help us familiarise with the building services we can find around the site, contextual connection is vital for the design of this info equipment shed. I'm glad we are assigned the site in our campus which is our sports centre, I think an installation like the Info Equipment Shed can be implimented to the site. The environmental sustainable structure of the shed is practical, useful and manageable in terms of its operations and upkeep.

In a group of three people, come out with designs which fit the functionality and aesthetic of the shed and make sure it is suitable to be built on the site. This shed also caters to the users around to carry out their activities, the shed also fits to the natural context of the site with its structural similarity.

PROJECT 2A: SITE ANALYSIS - DISCOVERING THE ENVIRONMENT AND SOCIAL POETICS FOR CONTEXTUAL ARCHITECTURE

We have been assigned to identify and analyse the site context of the Mah Meri Cultural Centre in Pulau Carey, It is a place where the Mah Meri tribes gather for events and also festivals. We are there to identify and analyse environmental and social needs of the site and later on propose for Community Development and Engagement Center. We measured and studied the physical features of the site such as contour, vegetation, and existing structures. Not only that, we conduct interviews with the community, users, and authority for additional information. The data collected are analysed and synthesized into 6 A1 infographic boards.

PROJECT 2B: COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT CENTRE

This project calls for a design of a simple public building with some complexity that includes the complexities of site topography and vegetation, socio-cultural events, and variety of strategies for sustainable design. we are to design the building with 2-3 storeys and 800 sq m. floor area, some facilities are to be accommodate is a communal hall, development cetre, engagement spaces and accommodation for 3 rooms. It is also required to make an informed response firstly to the surrounding context, it is intended to have us design in near full-freedom.

I am able to apply ideas of environmental sustainability in design and create architectural spaces with consideration of environmental poetics to the basic natural context and existing built context which impact on users' experiences. I have also produced 2D and 3D drawings to aid in verbal presentation and visualizing architectural design.
