PROJECT 1: MEMORIALS THEMED "JOURNEY OF THE 5 SENSES"
In this studio of Year 2, we start to focus our research into the space for a certain group of people. To induce a sense of poetry to a space and let this group of people to experience it with their senses, this poetry tells a story and also directs the thought of users through the spaces.
We are to choose two buildings which are either Linear or Concentrical and Contemporary or Pre-Modern to do our precendent studies. I have learnt to identify and explain different spatial types in architecture and how they inform spatial use and experience.
From these spatial poetics, we are able to create tectonic expression of different spatial typologies which impact on the uses and experiential conditions of space. From the two precendent studies, we are to generate 2 memorials. One for the MH17 plane crash and one for the MV Sewol ship sinking incident.

PROJECT 2: GENIUS LOCI: SITE ANALYSIS & CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
The start of this project is a site visit to an island off the coast of Melacca in the straits of Melacca, the island of Pulau Besar. We are to explore the society, culture, history, memory and landscape of the island with our own senses and experience. That is produce a concept design for our Visitor Interpretive Centre, by experiencing the site context ourself.
With the genius loci as the main focus, we did our site analysis of the space. We did research on as much information as possible on the island as it is still much to explore about its background and myths.

PROJECT 3: GENIUS LOCI: VISITOR INTERPRETIVE CENTRE (VIC)
An architectural response to design an interpretive centre is required and it emphasise a strong engagement and relationship to the site, spatial experiences and programmatic requirements. I have generate designs with unique character from my own analysis of the macro site and micro site context. I have also learned to generate designs through concious consideration of section-plan relationship with considerations of human scale, natural light , material and texture.
The VIC has the requirement to cater to a small scale community building users which responses to site, functional programs and user experiences. Drawings are produces with 2D and 3D digital models are presented with verbal presentation on submission day.
